Loll

Picture 10Always on the hunt for outdoor furniture, I came across Loll‘s amazing collection.  All of the orGLAMic pieces in the collection are made of 100% recycled post consumer plastic and are also 100% recyclable.  The company uses sustainable business practices through and through, including offsetting carbon footprint through carbonfund.org, using recycled packaging and donating to various eco-charities.  The chaise, pictured above, it called The 405 Chaise, in an homage to Los Angeles’ famous freeway.  Available in apple, sky, black, white, chocolate, sand and leaf, there is a piece for everyone!  Click here to check out the entire orGLAMic collection.

Picture 9Dress your baby in beautiful orGLAMic clothing by Feather Baby.  All of the items, including onsies, dresses and pyjamas,  are made of 100% organic Pima cotton.  The organic Pima cotton is grown, spun and knitted by the only textile company in the Americas that is certified organic as well as fair trade; and no chemicals, inks, bleaches, or anything toxic is used throughout every process.  What a relief when thinking about the environment as well as a baby’s precious skin.  Click here to browse the orGLAMic collection and here to find a retailer near you.

Picture 2One of my favorite go-to shopping destinations, CB2 offers a great variety of eco-conscious accessories among it’s modern haven.  Crate & Barrel’s sister company has hundreds of reasonably priced items, many of which are delightfully orGLAMic as well (check out the recycled mosaic placemats I featured last year.)  Packing for a beachside picnic this evening, I came across the hyacinth placemat, pictured above.  Woven out of the sustainable hyacinth leaves, these durable mats are both visually appealing and durable.  Click here to purchase online from CB2 and here to brows the rest of the orGLAMic items available.

furtherI have long been a fan of Further soap, which I first discovered on Daryl Hannah’s website.  Well, the company is on my radar once again as they have now partnered up with one of my favorite resaturants in town – making their soap derived from waste grease supplies of Nancy Silverton and Mario Batali’s Mozza!  But don’t worry your hands won’t smell like my favorite burrata dish, the company has a fantastic signature scent of bergamot, olive and exotic grasses that is sure to please.  Who knew this orGLAMic, biodegradable soap, which is never tested on animals, could get any better?  Click here to purchase this soap or the company’s equally orGLAMic candle.

Picture 10Be sure to protect your peeps orGLAMically with these shades by ICU Eyewear.  Made from plastic otherwise headed for a landfill, these sunglasses, inspired in design by the classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer, are both stylish and eco-conscious.  Because new plastic is made from oil and never biodegrades, the use of reclaimed materials combined with the chic design gets two thumbs up from me.  These sunglasses are available in tortoise shell (my favorite, pictured above), black, red and white.  Click here to purchase the orGLAMic shades online.

eamesNothing says summertime like a good ol’ rocking chair.  Why not glam up with an orGLAMic version by Eames this year?  The iconic Molded Plastic Rockers,  often known as RAR (rocking arnchair rod), come in a variety of colors including light blue, red orange, lime yellow and black.  Originally manufactured in fiberglass-reinforced plastic when the design first came out in 1948, the updated orGLAMic version is made of ecologically-friendly molded polypropylene.  The durability and timeless design assures that this rocker is around for the long haul – orGLAMic design at it’s finest.  Click here to find this Eames rocker at Modernseed.

PS:  This Eames rocker has been touted as a great glider for nursing mothers as well!

ecoboneLet Fido go green with an orGLAMic Eco Bone by West Paw Design.  Pictured above, the bone is made of a durable, strong fabric comprised of 85% reengineered, recycled IntelliLoft fibers surrounding a squeaker.  IntelliLoft is clean, safe, re-engineered PET (polyethylene terephthalate) polymer material.  By recycling existing PET polymer material West Paw Design reduces energy use, while at the same time keeps plastic bottles out of landfills. Creating products that use IntelliLoft™ recycled material can use up to 8 times less energy than it takes to manufacture the same material new.  The Eco Bone is just one of the many orGLAMic options available.  Click here to check out everything from toys to beds to sweaters for your four-legged friend.

esquePortland, Oregon-based Esque creates unique, orGLAMic handblown pieces of art.  Many of the pieces are functional as well as beautiful, such as the Dent Pitcher + Cups in Smoke pictured above.  Various items are %100 recycled and chemical free, and the design studio’s electric furnaces run on sustainable wind power.  My favorite eco-boutique in Chicago, Grasshopper 510, is offering the company’s orGLAMic wares at 40% off through July both in the quaint Bucktown store and online.  Click here to purchase the above item or here to learn more about Esque.

Picture 9Simplify your summer wardrobe by slipping on an orGLAMic dress by LTR Brands.  Made out of 95%-100% sustainable materials, the company takes organic bamboo thread, weaves it to make fabric and uses organic dyes to add color.  The fibers of the bamboo plant that are used to make the fabrics are naturally porous, so they absorb moisture and wick it away from the skin, keeping you cooler and drier than synthetics or cotton.  Bamboo fabrics also retain their anti-fungal, anti-bacterial properties even after fifty plus washes.  Click here to browse the entire orGLAMic collection, made in the company’s Los Angeles factory.
