Celebrate the 4th of July in style, elegantly sprawled on an orGLAMic towel by Amy Butler Design.  In collaboration with Welspun, Amy unveiled the Organic Exchange collection of bath and beach towels in June.  The towels are bright, fresh and modern, and are printed with low-impact dyes on 100% organic fibers.  Towels aren’t the only items with Amy’s flirty designs – click here for her official website and more looks at her offerings.  And while the towels are available at Bed Bath & Beyond (yay! mainstream stores offering eco options!) you can click here to shop the entire orGLAMic collection online.

Add a little whimsy to your kitchen decor (and limit the use of paper towels!) with this orGLAMic Birdcage Tea Towel available at Branch.  This 27.5″ long x 19.7″ wide towel is made of 100% organic cotton grown and manufactured in India and features a lovely, simple design.  And if you are considering giving this as a gift (an adorable hostess or housewarming gift, in my opinion) the towel arrives in a sleek envelope made of 100% recycled cardboard.  Click here to purchase the Birdcage Tea Towel pictured above, or here to browse the entire orGLAMic website with items for home, outdoor, pets, kids, etc.

This revolutionary company is transforming the way America lives, one orGLAMic PeopleTowel at a time.  A chic throwback to the more eco-friendly days of handkerchiefs (and the way the Japanese have been living forever!), these 100% cotton, reusable personal towels are the wave of the future.  Instead of using paper towels throughout the day, it is a cinch to carry one of these well-designed towels along for the ride.  Actually, for each person that uses a PeopleTowel for a year, landfill waste is reduced by 23 lbs. and 250 gallons of water is conserved.  And if you hurry up and order a PeopleTowel before 11/30, you will receive a free EcoSak to carry your towel in! Click here to purchase the ultimate orGLAMic stocking stuffer.

And soon, you too can get in on the revolution, with the first ever People Towels’ Design Contest!  Yours truly (orGLAMic!) has been asked to be one of the judges on the panel, helping select the newest design to be printed on the next set of PeopleTowels.  With tons of cash prizes, and the chance for your creation to be the next PeopleTowel, the contest begins on February February 4th, 2010 so click here for all the orGLAMic details.

I guess we have babies on the brain this week here at orGLAMic, because the products by 3 Sprouts are simply irresistable.  Their Organic Storage Bins are made of 100% certified organic cotton canvas, and are adorably decorated with 100% eco-spun felt made from recycled water bottles and dyed with low-impact dyes.  In addition to the monkey design above, the bins come in elephant and owl options.  These cute bins can help kids keep their books and toys in order, be a place to store all of Fido’s treats, leashes, etc, or even act as a show bin to keep outside debris from getting past the front door.  3 Sprouts also offers hooded towels, place mats and smocks in equally bright and eco-conscious designs.  Click here to browse the orGLAMic website.

Another orGLAMic bamboo product is the Go! Towel by Luxe Bamboo.  This tiny capsule, perfect for travel, expands with only 3 tablespoons of water to a 12″ x 20″ towel.  These 100% bamboo fiber towels are unbleached, undyed and unscented and have all the properties of bamboo that I have come to love: great absorbency, anti-bacterial/microbial, and extremely soft.  All this is great, but my favorite orGLAMic aspect of this product is that it is fully biodegradable and compostable!  Find out more about Go! Towels by clicking here.

I’ve highlighted organic items from West Elm here on orGLAMic before, but as they continue to expand their offerings I am compelled to do so again. I love that a mainstream manufacturer is making the effort of going organic, and that all the wares are reasonably priced. Actually, I love some of the new items so much, I’m going to dedicate the next few days to West Elm’s organic collection.

Let’s start off the week with these positively orGLAMic ikat towels. Ikat is absolutely of-the-moment and I while I usually run away from patterns I love the simplicity of the fawn and white. These tribal graphics on pure, organic cotton are patterned with earth-friendly, certified dyes. To purchase click here.
