If there is rehab for purses, I belong there.  While I try to keep my consumption to a minimum (let’s keep it green, people!) it is nice to know that my splurges can also be eco-conscious purchases.  Erin Templeton makes some of the most orGLAMic purses I’ve found.  The Side Saddle, pictured above, is my favorite among the ten different styles available.  The classic bucket bag is trendy once again, and while the bag shown above is made of buffalo hide, it is also available out of recycled leather otherwise destined for a landfill.  Click here to browse the entire collection, including accessories.

Any good orGLAMic reader knows that we have a thing for totes.  A major thing.  And while we don’t regularly approach total strangers in an attempt to track down whose bag came from where, that is exactly what we did when laying our eyes upon this bag from West Hollywood design duo Graf & Lantz.  It turns out each of their totes is carefully handmade with natural, sustainable, oekotox-certified merino wool felt and vegetable tanned leather, which are both biodegradable and recyclable.  With an endless array of color combinations and even custom items available, this is a slice of orGLAMic heaven.  Click here to buy a tote bag and here to browse the entire collection, including duffel bags, wine carriers, wallets and more!

The brainchild of Los Angeles-based jewelry-designer-turned-philanthropist Tina Tangalakis, Della has already made a huge splash in the short time since it’s inception in 2009.  Employing and empowering the women of Hohoe, Ghana, Della offers one-of-a-kind, handmade, vegan bags and accessories made of sustainable materials.  My personal pick is the Summertime in Yellow Classic Della Bag which would add the perfect punch to any day at the beach – and I love that every item has a label signed by the artist who made it.  Click here to purchase the bag pictured above and here to shop the entire orGLAMic collection including messenger bags, wallets, business card holders and more.

Artecnica

I love the look of these multi-purpose, orGLAMic cork cases by Artecnica.  The fact that they can be used and reused for so many purposes makes these products even more orGLAMic than the fact that they are crafted from 100% recycled billboards and sustainable cork.  Inspired by the simple design of a traditional envelope, I could see myself using the largest clutch as an daytime clutch with a simple jean outfit or sundress (or to even organize office supplies!)  Ranging from $18-$36 these would make orGLAMic gifts.  Click here to purchase one today.

A black, orGLAMic, oversized purse?!  I’m sold!  There is nothing more on my radar right now than this tote by Cha Cha.  Preciously named ‘Sweet Affair’, this tote is made of handwoven salvaged and recycled leather and lined with organic canvas.  I love the balance of simplicity and detail of this accessory, as well as the fact that it can be used everywhere from the office to the grocery store to the beach.  Click here to purchase this uber-orGLAMic tote from the Canadian line and here for the other handful of eco-friendly accessories.

Matt & Nat accessories are always on my radar here at orGLAMic.  This time around, I am a little obsessed with the Goldfrapp handbag pictured above.  Not only is the bag named after a great group (their song “A&E” has been in my rotation for a couple of years now) but it is made of a beautiful vegan “leather” that passes my orGLAMic scrutiny.  In addition the hot pink leather faux suede lining (for that extra kick!) is made from 23 recycled plastic bottles.  With pieces in the latest collection named Santogold, NIN and Hendrix, you know these orGLAMic designs rock.  Click here to purchase.

I am a sucker for leather purses.  Gasp – it’s true!  This is one of the places in my life I find it hard to be orGLAMic, but luckily Vancouver-based designer Ashley Watson makes it easier with her beautiful bags made of recycled leather.  The collection offers so many differently shaped and sized bags, but personally, I want to swing the Martin Duffel over my shoulder.  I love that is is rugged yet chic at the same time – perfect for an impromptu weekend getaway!  Click here to browse the entire collection, which includes wallets, belts and a great shaving kit for that orGLAMic man in your life.

Neutra

Any orGLAMic fashionista in your life is sure to appreciate bags by Neutra.  All of Neutra’s products are made of discarded inner car tubes. Because tires are made out of nonrecyclable materials, this is the perfect way to keep trash out of the landfills and look stylish while doing it.  My personal fave is the Zap handbag pictured above, but Neutra offers dozens of items ranging from clutches and laptop bags, to accessories such a sketchbooks and luggage tags.  There are plenty of gifts for men on this site as well!  Click here to purchase the Zap bag, and here to shop the orGLAMic Neutra collection

As fall finally approaches Los Angeles, I am heading straight to the beach this weekend to capture my last days in the sand.  What would make my excursion truly orGLAMic is a bag from Sea Bags.  Each bag is handmade from recycled sails (yes, like the kind from sailboats) so styles, shape and size vary with each purchase.  Because of the fact they are made of sails, all the bags are durable, water-resistant, washing-machine friendly, and orGLAMic!  Check out the options, and even custom order your own bag here.

Elezar

Retail therapy does a soul good (as I displayed emphatically this weekend!) and now the ONLY thing missing from my fall wardrobe is this tote from Elezar’s Vivi collection.  The entire Vivi collection is vegan and biodegradable, and is still made in Italy with the fine craftsmanship that Elezar is known for.  I personally like the distressed brown tote pictured above and, as always, am drawn to the bright gold hardware.  I love that it is now possible to be eco-chic and still on top of all the trends.  There is an orGLAMic bag for everyone, so click here to check them out.
