For a refined version of the sneaker, check out all the orGLAMic shoes made by Veja.  Designed in Paris, this company works with small Brazilian producers of organic cotton and wild rubber from the Brazilian Amazon to create a variety of hip, chic sneaks.  The Indigenos made of vegetable-tanned leather would be my choice for any orGLAMic man in my life, as I think they are youthful and refined at the same time.  I also love that could easily transition from work to play to a night on the town.  Click here to browse the entire orGLAMic collection and here to find a worldwide location near you.

While TOMS made it’s mark in the footwear market several years ago with it’s unique signature style and social-good platform, it is the wide selection of hip designs combined with more recent organic options that makes them our pick for today’s Manly Monday post.  Made with certified pesticide-free cotton, the Grey Cousteau Organic Cotton Men’s Cordones shown above are just one of the many organic options available.  And, as you likely know by now, for each pair of TOMS shoes purchased the company donates another pair to a child in need.  Click here to purchase this exact pair, or here to browse the entire orGLAMic website.

Paired with slouchy boyfriend jeans and an equally slouchy T, these orGLAMic flats by Naya are perfect for a springtime jaunt about town.  The Stoneham gladiator-inspired t-strap sandals are eco-consciously made of chrome-free leather, nickel-free buckles, biodegradable foam cushioning, a bamboo heel and an outsole made of recycled cork.  The company’s entire collection is made with eco-friendly products whenever possible, and this design is my favorite.  Naya makes it easy to purchase a pair of these orGLAMic shoes, with items available both online and in stores nationwide.  Click here to buy online and here to find a store near you.

This Manly Monday post features preppy-chic kicks from The People’s Shoe.  Hand-crafted in Eastern China under strictly regulated conditions, these orGLAMic sneakers come packaged in a 90% post-consumer waste reusable tote made of plastic bags collected off the streets of Bali.  In 2010 The People’s Shoe is also donating 1% of gross revenue to 1% For The Planet, and looking ahead, the company’s next line is set to incorporate elements such as organic canvas and laces, non-toxic glues, natural dyes and nickel-free eyelets.  I think the white and navy shoe pictured above are great for a laid-back, orGLAMic, summertime look, but there are several different choices available by clicking here to purchase.

Simple has been a pioneer in mainstream footwear brands going eco.  While I’m not much of a sneakers-kind-of-gal, these baby booties are an orGLAMic treat for feet.  The Simple Weebit Booties are made of certified organic cotton, with soft, flexible soles made of washable eco-suede.  The elastics are made of recycled PET (made from recycled plastic bottles) and latex, and all glue is water-based.  Even the shoebox is made of post-consumer recycled paper, soy based printing ink, natural latex and starch based glue.  Click here for one of the most orGLAMic options for your eco-baby, and a great deal at only $24!

This week’s installment of MANLY MONDAYS is for all of you athletes out there, or for those of you that just want to play the part.  Adidas makes it easy with their line of eco-conscious orGLAMic footwear.  The Superstar 2 Grun Shoes, pictured above, are a fun, eco-conscious version of the Superstar shoe, a basketball shoe that has been around since 1969.  While it was difficult to find the exact eco-specs of this style, many of the shoes from the line have vegetable-tanned leather, partly recycled EVA midsoles, and recycled materials used in the outsole.  Either way, it is clear that these shoes are a step in the right direction (horrible pun intended).  Click here to buy a pair of these orGLAMic kicks.
