copperwillowNo matter what the occasion, Copper Willow has orGLAMic stationary to get the job done.  The company prints beautiful “eco-luxe” letterpress with soy-based inks and uses only earth-friendly solvents or chemicals.  Copper Willow papers are purchased from eco-friendly mills (some of which use hydroelectricity or wind power) and all the paper they use is either 30%-100% recycled or tree-free, chlorine-free and FSC or Green Seal approved.  In addition to all the varieties available on the site, Copper Willow also offers custom letterpress and event accessories.  Click here to browse the orGLAMic collection and find out more about the Culver City, California-based company.

Hamadi hair care products are the perfect addition to an orGLAMic slew of beauty supplies.  Other than the amazing slogan “tested on actresses, never on animals”, I love the fact that the line is biodegradable, made with 100% organic essential oils and plant extracts, and contains no artificial ingredients, colors or preservatives.  The Lemon Mint Hair Wash, pictured below, smells absolutely devine and refreshing in this summertime heat, while it’s orGLAMic ingredients protect against chlorine discoloration and seal in existing color.

Picture 8If you are in the Los Angeles area be sure to stop by The Green Life (one of my new favorite eco-shops in town) the evening of July 2nd where owner Scott is hosting LA Green Drinks.  Not only is is a great way to meet other eco-minded people, but a stylist from Hamadi will be explaining the line as well as offering style consultations from 7:30pm-9:30pm.  Click here to browse the entire orGLAMic line of products, and here to check The Green Life’s website.

Picture 7Nothing says summertime like flip flops (although I have to admit as an Angeleno I wear them year round!)  OrGLAMic FLOPS are an eco-alternative as they are made out of natural Brazilian rubber instead of synthetic rubber.  The harvesting of biodegradable natural rubber occurs by harmlessly ‘tapping’ into the tree to remove a milky sap from the bark, which doesn’t affect the health of the tree.  When it is time to recycle FLOPS just return the pair to the company and you will receive 10% off of a next pair!  Of course, I posted the sleek, orGLAMic, black pair above – but FLOPS sandals come in 18 different color combinations ranging from cherry to anise.  Click here to browse FLOPS and find a store near you.

My favorite display of going green is when it is melded beautifully with modern furniture.  One of the tops in his game, designer Cliff Spencer, does this orGLAMic dance beautifully. He uses reclaimed wood and sustainable materials, and all of the products are finished using low-VOC and water-based finishes.  I love the table and bench pictured above, which is made from wine-stained oak reclaimed from an old Napa winery.  The Marina del Rey-based designer offers commissioned and custom made furniture, in both modern and traditional styles.  Click here to check out the orGLAMic site and let your imagination run wild.

Picture 8If your father is more of a suit and tie kind of guy, why not help spruce up his wardrobe with an orGLAMic piece by Kirsten Muenter?  The San Francisco-based jeweler creates a wide variety of jewelry made from a wide range of eco-conscious materials.  Using mostly repurposed and found objects (from bowling balls to vintage pearl jewelry,) in addition to stones bough from small family owned mines, the designer insists that we be conscious consumers while enjoying her beautiful orGLAMic pieces.  In addition, all the sterling silver in her latest line is 100% recycled content.  My favorite orGLAMic item on the website are these one-of-a-kind cufflinks made of fossilized dinosaur bone and recycled sterling silver.  Click here to browse the entire orGLAMic collection.
