There is no better solo activity than snuggling up to read while it rains outside…and rains…and rains.  GrandinRoad makes this comfy pastime orGLAMic with their Southport Eco Suede Chair.  Every yard of the 100% polyester micro-suede fabric contains the equivalent of one recycled water bottle and looks superbly chic while doing it.  I love the sleek design of this orGLAMic chair and could easily see it in my bedroom’s reading corner (and confession, where my clothes tend to pile up).  Click here to buy this eco-conscious chair and here to check out GrandinRoad’s new collection of outdoor furniture made of FSC- and IBAMA- certified wood and LED outdoor light globes.

Here in Los Angeles, tomorrow is Bike To Work day, and there is no better way to haul the usual suspects (lunch, loose papers, a change of clothes, that book you are going to read during your lunch break someday…) than in an orGLAMic bag from Timbuk2‘s eco-friendly line.  On the company’s comprehensive website, shoppers can build their own bag choosing from a variety of colors and eco-friendly fabrics such as recycled polyester and hemp.  While I was drawn to the simple beige bag offered on the site, I couldn’t resist having a little fun and playing around to create my own masterpiece.  The bag pictured above is my own orGLAMic, Missoni-inspired creation!  Click here to create and order your own orGLAMic messenger bag from Timbuk2.

picture-3Aviator Nation is the essence of laid back California cool.  Their casual-wear pieces, including hoodies, sweatpants and t-shirts are made in Los Angeles with the environment in mind.  Everything in this orGLAMic line is made from a blend of organic cotton and recycled polyester, and I love the company’s ethics.  Each year Aviator Nation chooses a cause to raise awareness for and they dedicate a collection of the line to that cause.  This year the cause is HIV/AIDS in Africa, and they’ve teamed up with an organization in Kenya called Comfort The Children.  They will donate $10 from each piece of the Africa collection sold to Kenya’s Kijabe hospital, with the money going directly to buying the antiretroviral medication people with HIV/AIDS need to survive.  Click here to check out their orGLAMic website.
