Our last orGLAMic offering for this Father’s Day is the organic remote pocket pillow. Just because dad is a couch potato doesn’t mean he can’t lounge in style. These orGLAMic pillows have a sleek little pocket for dad’s remote and are handmade out of hemp and organic cotton. I love that they are so simple yet a little cheeky. Yumi and Laurie

Appeal to the softer side of dad with a large, luxurious, organic blanket by Yumi and Laurie. These throws are made from 100% certified organic cotton and bamboo. They come in a ton of beautiful colors and patterns, but my orGLAMic favorite is the rich orange pictured above. Best of all, the bamboo makes them naturally antimicrobial and excellent for people that have allergies. Check out the entire line of orGLAMic luxury by clicking here.

Vancouver

Red Flag Desgin is a Vancouver-based company with tons of great gift ideas for dad. While all of their products are made from locally sourced materials, the AUM line (Alternate Use Material) uses discarded materials from our uber-consumer and disposable society. Their first AUM line is made from reclaimed sailcloth. I like the shopper, pictured above, for dads because it’s a nice change from all the frilly ones that have come out with the recent canvas bag movement, but there are also great items like duffel bags and toiletry kits that your father will love. Check out the entire orGLAMicproduct line by clicking here.
Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney has been a pioneer in vegan and eco-friendly design for years. But for those of you that can’t necessarily afford some of her more high-end items, her line for LeSportsac is right up your ally. While these items are a litte more sporty than orGLAMic, the muted colors make them an excellent choice for schlepping around workout gear or items for a day at the beach. My favorite is the Everyday Tote pictured above, but there is also an uber-orGLAMic diaper tote for all you mommies out there! Check out the full line of Stella McCartney for LeSportsac by clicking here.
Act 2

I recently purchased a laptop sleeve from Act 2 (it’s actually Act squared but I have no idea how to type that on my computer!) and I couldn’t be happier. The case is made of a fabric called PET, which is 100% recycled plastic. And, for $25, is one of the least expensive on the market. Of course, this orGLAMic girl got a black sleeve, but they are also available in blue and tan. I’m a minimalist, hence the sleeve purchase, but Act 2 also has laptop bags, messenger bags, the works… Check them all out by clicking here.
Mink

Always on the lookout for vegan-friendly shoe options, I was thrilled to come across Mink. While the market has been expanding (check out orGLAMic’s previous post on Natalie Portman’s line for Te Casan) this orGLAMic girl has had a hard time finding leather-free shoes that I love. Call me crazy, but it’s either flip-flops or stilletos for me and finally MINK has some orGLAMic options for both.

MINK shoes are custom designed and hand crafted from only the finest quality non-animal products. Natural or scientifically engineered alternatives such as cork, denim, linen, faux fur, and other animal friendly substitutes are employed - while leather, suede, pelts, and skins are never used. Bella

Apparently orGLAMic readers love their pets! As a response to all your emails, I introduce you to Bella. Bella makes pet beds and blankets that are eco-friendly without sacrificing style. They are made out of hypoallergenic, Eco2 recycled cotton fiber, and the beds are stuffed with high loft fiberfill made from recycled PET. The Bella Bed and Bella Binky won 2007 Pet Product News International Editors’ Choice Award and the 2007 Modern Dog Staff Picks Award, so orGLAMic is not alone in recognizing that these pet accessories are both green AND gorgeous enough to have lying around your orGLAMic home. Check out all the color combos available, here.
Umbra

Design company Umbra is getting in on the green movement by adding a line of eco-friendly products to their selection. They now carry products made of “corn” plastic, bamboo, and renewable plantation wood. While it’s just a small start, if we support this latest venture there are sure to be more orGLAMic offerings with time. The Aquala Bathtub Caddy pictured above relaxes me by just looking at it - or maybe it’s the built-in wine glass holder that is truly calling my name…To check out the new eco-friendly products available at Umbra, click here.
Kooba

Just in time for summer, designer handbag line Kooba is joining the green movement with the ultimate beach-friendly tote. This bag, designed exclusively for Barney’s New York, is made of 100% organic cotton canvas and accented with recycled cork trim. It is available in natural or green, although I don’t think I need to tell you that natural is way more orGLAMic! To buy this limited-edition bag simply click here.
Please remember that the easiest way to save the earth is to CONSUME LESS. OrGLAMic is meant as a guide to lead you in the right direction when you do need to buy something new, not as an excuse to consume more just because the product is eco-friendly!
Recycline
From lingerie to toothbrushes, there is a little bit of everything here at orGLAmic! I have been searching for years for a toothbrush that wouldn’t completely ruin my simple and sleek bathroom decor. Call me crazy, but something about the neon-colored handles and bright-blue-striped bristles that most toothbrushes have just didn’t go with the white Jonathan Adler-inspired vase that I keep my toothbrush in. So imagine my delight when I found the beautiful, pared down toothbrushes made by Recycline! Not only are they gorgeous, but they are made of all recycled materials. Yes, I know, it’s not organic, but it is an amazing start. Recycline has a wonderful program that uses recycled Stonyfield Farm yogurt cups to make their products, and they even provide postage-paid envelopes to help consumers return their used products for recycling. Check out the merchandise -including razors, toothpicks and more- by clicking here.
